Sort

The Sort station is the first checkpoint for all packages returned to the warehouse. A hub associate's job is to scan each package and sort it into the correct bin for the next step in the process.

Workstation Setup

Before you begin, ensure your station is set up correctly:

  • Redo/ReturnBear Admin: You should have the "Sort" page open.

  • Hand Scanner: To scan package labels.

  • Label Printer: For printing new "License Plate" stickers.

  • Sort Bins: You must have four clearly labeled physical bins:

    1. Verify

    2. Grade

    3. License Plate

    4. Quarantine

Scan & Sort

  1. Take an incoming package.

  2. Scan any identifier on the package (this can be a barcode, QR code, or RMA number).

  3. The system will load the RMA details on the screen, as shown below.

  4. Look for the "Sort this RMA" card. The system will clearly tell you the destination. In the example below, the destination is VERIFY.

  5. Place the unopened package into the matching physical sort bin (e.g., place this package in the "Verify" bin).

  6. You are now ready to scan the next package.

Manual Lookup (scan not successful)

If a package's label is damaged, missing, or will not scan, follow these steps.

  1. In the "Try tracking number or return number" field, manually type in any identifying information you can find. This can be:

    • Tracking Number

    • RMA Number

    • Customer Name or Email

    • Customer Postal Code

  2. Press Enter to search. The system will find the RMA and show you the "Sort this RMA" card with its destination (e.g., "Verify," "Grade").

  3. CRITICAL: Because this package could not be scanned, you must print a new label. The system will give you an option to "Print License Plate".

  4. Print the new License Plate sticker and securely affix it to the package. All packages leaving the Sort station must have a scannable barcode.

  5. Place the newly-labeled package into the correct sort bin shown on the screen.

Return Point Shipments (Canada Only)

If you scan a package and the system indicates it contains multiple RMAs, you'll need to scan each individual package.

  1. Open the package at your station.

  2. Find the individual items/packages inside. Each should have its own RMA.

  3. Scan the first RMA. The system will show a sort location (e.g., "Verify"). Place that item into the "Verify" bin.

  4. Scan the second RMA. The system might show a different location (e.g., "Grade"). Place that item into the "Grade" bin.

  5. Repeat this process until every individual RMA from the box has been scanned and sorted into its correct bin.
