Redo Managed Returns — Services and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Redo Managed Returns consists of three core service categories, which can be combined depending on merchant needs.

Updated this week

Verification & Grading

Verification: All returns are subject to verification criteria to determine the initial state of the items returned

Grading: An additional service where each item is individually graded based on its condition and product packaging

  • Verification

Redo verifies each returned item to a standard criteria that determines the initial state of the items returned to confirm:

  • The correct SKU and quantity

  • The item matches the approved RMA

  • The return complies with merchant policy

Verification is completed within defined SLAs once items are received at a Redo facility.

  • Grading

All individual items in return cases that are graded to in-depth inspection to determine the overall condition of the item. Once individual items have been graded, they will be repacked or donated depending on the grading outcome. Each verified item is graded into one of five conditions:

  • Factory sealed (new)

  • Like new

  • Good

  • Dirty

  • Damaged

All items are:

  • Individually poly-bagged

  • Tagged with item SKU and merchant SKU

  • Routed based on merchant-defined disposition rules

How the grading criteria is checked depends on the item’s product category. Similarly, how an item is prepared and repacked depends on its product category.

Consolidation & Return Shipping (inc. Cross-Border)

Consolidation allows merchants to aggregate returned inventory before shipping it back to their warehouse.

Redo handles:

  • Pick, pack, and shipment of consolidated inventory

  • Cross-border coordination and documentation (if applicable)

  • Shipment scheduling based on merchant-defined timelines

Key characteristics:

  • Consolidation does not include carrier or brokerage fees unless explicitly agreed

  • Merchants remain responsible for providing accurate shipment and customs data

  • Consolidation can be domestic or cross-border

Forward Fulfillment allows merchants to resell returned items directly from Redo facilities.

Redo supports:

  • Picking, packing, and shipping returned inventory to end customers

  • Generic mailers and polybags (merchant-branded packaging optional)

  • Short-term storage (default 30 days)

This service is ideal for:

  • High-velocity SKUs
