How to set up OE with Shopify Tags (Shiphero)

Ensuring order edits correctly update inventory in Shiphero and other softwares

Use Shopify order tags when ShipHero fulfills your orders. Redo adds tags; ShipHero automation rules convert them into holds and releases.

1. Configure Redo
Go to Settings > Order Management > Order Editing. Under Order Holds:

  • Enable Apply hold to all orders and set the hold duration.

  • Enable Hold orders requiring payment.

  • Set Hold method to Order Tags, then save.

2. Configure ShipHero
Go to Orders > Automation Rules. Create these rules using Order Tag contains:

  • redo_order_editing_holdSet Operator Hold On

  • redo_order_editing_hold_offSet Operator Hold Off

  • redo_order_editing_payment_holdSet Payment Hold On

  • redo_order_editing_payment_hold_offSet Payment Hold Off

Keep Rerun this rule on order tags import enabled. Redo adds an _off tag to release a hold rather than removing the original tag.

3. Test
Place a Shopify test order and confirm each tag causes the expected ShipHero hold or release. The initial tag may take about 10 seconds to appear.

To create a rule to hold on payments in ShipHero to respect these tags simply go to the rules and do the following:

Order edits should correctly sync with ShipHero with no additional rules.
