Partial Order Fulfillment using Scan-to-Verify

How to ship the available items now and leave the rest for later using Scan-to-Verify

For merchants using Redo OMS.


Before you start

  • Go to Order Management > Orders > Scan

  • Have the Shipment ID ready to scan

  • Decide whether remaining items should stay open or be placed on hold

Note: Use partial fulfillment when some items are unavailable so the rest of the order is not delayed.


Example scenario

  • Order has 4 × Extra Small and 1 × Extra Large

  • Picker finds 1 × Extra Large and 1 × Extra Small

  • 3 × Extra Small are missing


Partially fulfill the order

  1. Scan and verify items

    • Scan each available item

    • Verified items appear in the list

    • Unavailable items remain unverified

  2. Select partial fulfillment

    • Click Partially Fulfilled Order

    • Add internal notes such as out-of-stock details

  3. Manage remaining items

    • Choose one

      • Leave open → the remainder flows back into Ready to Ship

      • Place on hold → pick a reason such as Inventory out of stock, High risk of fraud, or Other, and set an until date

    • Hold status syncs to Shopify with the reason

  4. Confirm

    • Click Partially Fulfilled

    • A new shipment is created for the verified items

    • Remaining items stay in their selected status (open or on hold)


Complete the shipment

  1. Review shipment details

  2. Generate label

  3. Order status after labeling

    • The fulfilled portion appears in Open Shipments like a normal order

    • The remaining portion stays in Open or Hold until resolved

Tip: Leave clear internal notes so teammates understand why part of the order was held back


Review all shipments for the order

  • Click the order number to view all related shipments

  • You’ll see one shipment with the fulfilled items and another with the remaining items


Key notes

  • Partial fulfillment lets you ship what’s ready without waiting for the full order

  • Use hold with a reason to provide downstream visibility in Shopify

  • Always verify details before printing labels


FAQs

Will customers receive multiple tracking numbers?


Yes. Each shipment generates its own label and tracking number.

Can I later ship the held items from the same order?

Yes. When inventory is available, move the remaining items back to Open and proceed through Ready to Ship.

Does partial fulfillment affect billing or packing slips?

Each shipment has its own label charge and packing slip. Review each before printing.
