Updated over a week ago

Getting Started with Redo OMS

What is Redo OMS?

Redo OMS is a modern order management system that helps you streamline your fulfillment process. It integrates seamlessly with your Shopify store and other sales channels to manage orders, print labels, and track shipments all in one place.

How is Redo OMS different from ShipStation?

Redo OMS offers several key advantages:

  • Real-time two-way sync with Shopify (changes made in either system update instantly)

  • Auto-batching that automatically groups your orders for efficient processing

  • Cleaner, more intuitive interface that's easier to navigate

  • More powerful automations to streamline your workflow

  • Scan-to-verify feature to reduce shipping errors

Shipping & Carriers

Which carriers does Redo OMS support?

Redo OMS supports all major carriers:

  • USPS - Ideal for packages under 2 pounds

  • FedEx - Ground and expedited options available

  • UPS - Ground and expedited options available

  • Amazon Shipping - Available for high-volume merchants in select ZIP codes

You can bring your own carriers to our software as well. This is something to discuss with one of our sales engineers who can help you run a pricing analysis and see if our rates can save you money.

What insurance coverage is included?

All shipments include $100 of carrier-provided insurance at no additional cost. If you need coverage beyond $100, you can purchase additional insurance at competitive rates through Redo OMS.

Can I ship internationally with Redo OMS?

Yes, Redo OMS supports international shipping. You can configure whether duties are:

  • Paid by the customer at checkout (DDP - Delivered Duty Paid)

  • Paid by the customer upon delivery (DDU - Delivered Duty Unpaid)

Pro tip: Always include printed commercial invoices with international shipments to avoid customs delays.

Order Processing & Management

How do I find a specific order?

  • Navigate to your shipments view

  • If the order doesn't appear in search, click the filter icon

  • Remove all filters by clicking the X next to each one

  • Search for your order number again

  • The order will now appear in the results

Note: Filters remain active even when searching, which is why orders may not appear initially.

What do the different shipment statuses mean?

  • Open - Order is unfulfilled and ready to process

  • Ready to Ship - Label has been created but not yet picked up

  • Closed - Order has been fulfilled and shipped

  • Voided - Label was cancelled (usually to create a new one)

  • On Hold - Order is paused and won't be processed

Why does one order have multiple shipments?

Multiple shipments can occur when:

  • Items ship from different locations

  • A label is voided and recreated

  • An order is reshipped (e.g., after return to sender)

  • Items are split into multiple packages

Features & Functionality

What is auto-batching?

Auto-batching automatically groups your orders based on criteria you set (like shipping method, number of items, or destination). Instead of manually filtering orders each morning, you'll find them pre-sorted into batches ready to print.

How does scan-to-verify work?

Scan-to-verify helps prevent shipping errors:

  • Print your packing slip with barcode

  • Scan the packing slip

  • Scan each product before packing

  • The system verifies all items match the order

This feature significantly reduces mis-shipments and improves accuracy.

Can I customize my packing slips?

Yes! Navigate to Settings > Order Fulfillment > General > Packing Slips to customize your packing slips. You can:

  • Add your logo and branding

  • Include custom messages

  • Add QR codes linking to your return portal

  • Adjust the layout and information displayed

Billing & Rates

How does billing work?

First of all, Redo OMS is free! We do not charge you for the use of the software.

To purchase outbound labels, Redo OMS uses an auto-reload system:

  • You set a maximum balance (e.g., $3,000)

  • You set a trigger amount (e.g., $300)

  • When your balance drops below the trigger, we automatically reload to your maximum

  • You can also add funds manually if needed

Troubleshooting

Why aren't shipping rates showing for some orders?

If rates aren't displaying:

  • Click into the shipment

  • Click the "Reset" button to refresh rates

  • Alternatively, adjust the weight up or down to trigger a rate refresh

My auto-reload isn't working. What should I do?

Try adding a one-time funding amount:

  • Go to Billing in your settings

  • Click One-time Funding

  • Enter an amount up to your maximum balance

  • This often resolves auto-reload issues

How can I track what happened with a specific shipment?

  • Click on the order number to view the order page

  • Navigate to Order Overview

  • Scroll to the bottom to see the activity log

  • This shows all actions taken, including who performed them and when

Integration & Setup

How quickly do changes sync between Redo OMS and Shopify?

Changes sync in real-time. When you update an order in either system, it reflects immediately in the other. This includes:

  • Order status updates

  • Address changes

  • Tracking information

  • Fulfillment status

What if I need to change something after printing a label?

If you haven't shipped the package yet:

  • Void the current label (if the void button is available)

  • Make your changes

  • Create a new label

Note: Once a package is scanned by the carrier, you cannot void the label. Use the "Reship" option for return-to-sender packages.
